Research/Writing

In my HMSV 440W Program Development, Implementation, and Funding course, I developed essential research and writing skills through the Envision Lead Grow project, where I focused on enhancing an existing program for young women entrepreneurs in underserved areas. This project highlighted the importance of solid research and persuasive writing in human services as I worked to identify critical strategies like building community partnerships, diversifying funding sources, and strengthening the organization’s digital presence. One powerful insight came from seeing how targeted research could make a program more relevant and actionable. The challenge of simplifying complex ideas for broader audiences improved my writing skills, teaching me that effective communication in human services is about making a compelling, values-driven case that stakeholders can connect with. Moving forward, I plan to use these skills to design data-driven programs and secure resources by keeping community needs at the forefront. This experience prepared me to make a meaningful impact through well-researched, clear, and persuasive program planning.
