Education
During the pandemic, I felt a strong calling to serve my community. As I was scrolling through Facebook one day, I came across an ad from Alelo offering free training to become a Community Health Worker. At the time, I was dealing with Post-COVID syndrome, and this opportunity resonated deeply with me—I wanted to help others avoid the struggles I had experienced. I pursued the training and proudly earned my Community Health Worker certification, which allowed me to contribute to my community in meaningful ways. While obtaining my Associate's Degree in Human Services, I also did course work to obtain my Benefits Program Specialist Certification. Recently, I furthered my education by completing the Work Incentive Certification through Cornell University. This rigorous course was challenging, but it was incredibly rewarding. Now, with this certification, I can assist individuals receiving Social Security benefits as they navigate re-entering the workforce without sacrificing their financial support. This role is incredibly fulfilling, as it allows me to help others improve their quality of life and regain a sense of independence.
