Meet Tesha: Inspiring Change as a Community Leader!

Profile Picture.jpg

Hello! My name is Latesha Holloman, and I am passionate about advocating for social justice and empowering underserved communities. As an African American woman with a disability, my personal experiences have driven me to pursue higher education at Old Dominion University. I am working on my bachelor's in Human Services and applying to the Master’s in Mental Health Counseling program. In addition to my studies, I am a Certified Work Incentive Practitioner and Community Health Worker, which allows me to help individuals with disabilities access work incentives and resources to improve their lives. My ultimate goal is to own a service facilitation and benefits consulting business to help people navigate public assistance systems without sacrificing their benefits.

I am deeply committed to community engagement, working with organizations like EmpowerAllVA, Benefits to Work, and Good Steward BBC to assist individuals in securing stable housing, finding resources, and obtaining job opportunities. These efforts are significant to me as I strive to address local issues like affordable housing and mental health support. Inspired by the resilience of my family, I am determined to use my education and experience to create meaningful change and help others achieve their full potential. Through my work, I aim to empower individuals to overcome challenges and live a life of opportunity and dignity.
